The Galletti DUCTIMAX 34D ducted fan coil unit, reference DM34D1L0000030B, is a medium-pressure hydronic terminal unit designed for concealed installations in suspended ceilings and air distribution through ductwork. It is equipped with a multi-speed motor with up to 7 speeds, a 4-row main coil and double-inlet centrifugal fans, offering a compact solution for water-based air conditioning in homes, offices and commercial applications.
In 2-pipe configuration, the DUCTIMAX 34 delivers a certified air flow rate of up to 402 m³/h, a maximum available static pressure of 63 Pa and a cooling capacity of up to 2.96 kW under Galletti’s nominal test conditions. Its reduced height, approximately 250 mm, makes it easy to integrate into suspended ceilings with limited space.
DUCTIMAX is Galletti’s range specifically developed for medium-pressure ducted installations where compact dimensions and flexibility to adapt fan operation to the actual needs of the duct network are required.
The series combines a compact structure with copper and aluminium heat exchange coils and centrifugal fans, allowing conditioned air to be distributed discreetly through grilles or diffusers away from the unit itself.
The reference DM34D1L0000030B includes the commercial 7-speed configuration.
The electric motor is a single-phase asynchronous type, with permanent capacitor, thermal protection and mounting on anti-vibration supports. The availability of different speeds makes it possible to adapt airflow, pressure and noise level according to the characteristics of the installation.
For the certified nominal performance of the DUCTIMAX 34 model, Galletti uses speeds 1, 6 and 7 as reference points, corresponding respectively to the published minimum, medium and maximum levels.
The certified nominal airflows for the DUCTIMAX 34 are:
Speed selection makes it possible to balance the air volume delivered with the pressure required in the ductwork and the acoustic level required for each project.
The DUCTIMAX 34 is designed for medium-pressure installations and provides different static pressure levels depending on the selected speed:
These values should be taken into account when sizing the duct network, considering the pressure losses introduced by ducts, bends, transitions, grilles, filters and other accessories.
Under the current test conditions used by Galletti for cooling — water at 7/12 °C and entering air at 27 °C dry bulb and 19 °C wet bulb — the model 34 offers:
The corresponding sensible cooling capacity is:
Actual performance will vary depending on water temperature, entering air conditions, hydraulic flow rate and fan speed.
With water at 45/40 °C and entering air at 20 °C, Galletti declares for the 2-pipe configuration:
These values make the DUCTIMAX suitable for integration into hydronic systems powered by heat pumps, chillers, boilers or other compatible generators, provided that the hydraulic design is carried out for the actual project conditions.
For nominal cooling conditions, the required water flow rate is:
The corresponding pressure drops across the coil are:
With nominal heating conditions, the flow rates are:
The hydraulic pressure drops are:
The DUCTIMAX 34 incorporates a 4-row main coil, made of copper tubes and aluminium fins joined by mechanical expansion.
This configuration increases the heat exchange surface compared with 3-row models and makes it possible to achieve higher performance with a limited air flow rate.
The coil includes headers and elements to facilitate hydraulic circuit venting.
The main heat exchanger uses 1/2" female hydraulic connections.
Galletti designs the DUCTIMAX range connections so that they can be reversed by rotating the coil when the installation layout allows it, providing flexibility during installation.
The unit uses double-inlet centrifugal fans with forward-curved blades.
The fans are statically and dynamically balanced and are directly coupled to the electric motor, reducing vibrations and allowing the pressure required for ducted operation to be achieved.
The absorbed power changes according to operating speed:
The unit’s nominal electrical supply is 230 V single-phase, 50 Hz.
Galletti declares for the 34 model a total sound power of:
The sound power corresponding to the suction plus radiation assembly is 37 / 48 / 52 dB(A), while in discharge it is 36 / 47 / 51 dB(A).
The perceived noise level in the room will depend on the ductwork design, insulation, suspended ceilings, grilles and distance from occupied areas.
DUCTIMAX has been specifically developed for horizontal concealed installation in suspended ceilings.
The structure has a very low height that makes it easy to place where available vertical space is limited.
For models 33-34, the main dimensions are approximately:
The fan coil load-bearing structure is made of galvanized steel sheet.
The interior includes thermoacoustic insulation to reduce both heat losses and noise transmission to the suspended ceiling and the conditioned space.
DUCTIMAX incorporates within its structure the main tray for collecting condensation water generated during cooling operation.
Galletti positions the tray under positive pressure relative to the discharge point to facilitate condensate drainage.
The drain connection indicated in the dimensional drawing for this family is approximately 17 mm.
As a concealed fan coil unit, conditioned air is distributed from the unit through a duct network to grilles or diffusers located in the areas to be conditioned.
This system makes it possible to:
The DUCTIMAX range supports regenerable acrylic fibre filtration systems in different classes depending on the configuration and selected accessories.
Galletti offers G2, G3 and G4 filters, allowing the filtration level to be adapted to the project requirements.
The presence and exact filter class must be checked according to the supplied configuration, as the range includes different variants and accessories.
The DUCTIMAX can be completed with numerous accessories to adapt the unit to the installation design:
These items should be considered optional unless the commercial supply configuration expressly states otherwise.
The DUCTIMAX range has Eurovent certified performance.
The nominal values for air flow, available pressure, power, consumption and thermal performance indicated by Galletti are published in accordance with the test conditions specified in its technical documentation.
The Galletti DUCTIMAX 34D DM34D1L0000030B combines a format of only 250 mm in height with a 7-speed motor, 4-row coil and up to 63 Pa of available pressure, offering a solution especially suitable for concealed hydronic installations in suspended ceilings.
Its ability to adapt airflow between the different speed levels makes it possible to balance thermal performance, available pressure and operating noise according to the characteristics of the ductwork. With up to 2.96 kW of cooling and 3.10 kW of heating under Galletti’s current nominal conditions, it is a versatile unit for residential and commercial water-based air conditioning projects.
