Transient and Permanent Surge Protector 2P 63A

Protection against permanent overvoltages

The unit continuously measures the installation voltage. When it detects a rise above the expected limit, it acts on the integrated IGA and disconnects the installation supply.

The currently linked technical datasheet from the manufacturer specifies a trip voltage above 265 V AC ±2%. The operating time depends on the magnitude of the overvoltage in accordance with the requirements of UNE-EN 50550.

Once normal voltage values are restored, the unit must be manually reset to supply the installation again.

Visual indicator of the protector status

The ST-2P63 includes an indicator window that allows the status of the surge protection module to be checked.

• Slow green flashing: device correctly connected and operational.
• Fast green flashing: indicates a wiring error between phase and neutral.
• Steady green after a transient overvoltage: the protector remains operational.
• Red indicator: the transient protection module has been damaged and must be replaced.

This indication makes it easy to visually inspect the device status during electrical panel maintenance operations.

For single-phase installations with phase and neutral

The Procoel ST-2P63 is specifically designed for single-phase installations. The phase must be connected to terminal L and the neutral to terminal N, strictly following the wiring diagram indicated by the manufacturer.

The manufacturer expressly states that the unit must not be installed on lines without neutral or in installations that do not have a protective PE earth connection.

Earth grounding is essential

For transient overvoltage protection to function correctly, the installation must have an adequate grounding system.

A properly executed PE connection allows the energy diverted by the protector during a transient overvoltage to be conducted to earth. The installation must be carried out in compliance with the conductor cross-sections, lengths and conditions established by the applicable electrical regulations.

Compact 3-module DIN format

The ST-2P63 is designed for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail and occupies 3 modules of 18 mm. Its approximate dimensions are 54 x 90 x 71 mm, making it easy to integrate the combined protector into residential, commercial and tertiary electrical panels.
