Detection is more effective when a person crosses the sensor beams transversely than when moving directly toward the detector. As with any PIR detector, ambient temperature can also affect the range, especially when it approaches body temperature.

Wall or ceiling mounting

One of the MULTIMAT's main advantages is its installation versatility. It can be surface-mounted on either a wall or a ceiling, allowing the sensor to adapt to different architectural configurations.

Orbis recommends a maximum installation height of 3 meters, with the ideal range being between 2 and 3 meters for good coverage.

Corner or angle installation

Twilight adjustment from 5 to 2000 lux

The MULTIMAT incorporates a light sensor with an adjustment range between 5 and 2000 lux. The user can configure the detector so that the lighting only activates when the ambient light is below the selected level.

With a higher setting it can operate even when there is quite a lot of ambient light, while settings close to the minimum allow switching on mainly in low-light or dark conditions.

Included detection field limiter

Orbis supplies the MULTIMAT with field limiters that allow certain areas of the lens to be excluded. The limiters are divided into sectors that can be adapted according to the required coverage.

This function makes it possible to reduce unwanted detections coming, for example, from nearby passageways, neighboring access points, or sectors outside the area that actually needs to be controlled.
