30-Second to 10-Minute Pulse Light Timer

The Orbis PULSALUZ, reference OB200000, is an electronic timer designed to automate the switching on of lighting circuits for a set period of time. It is flush-mounted in a universal mechanism box, operates at 230 V, and allows the timing to be adjusted between 30 seconds and 10 minutes, making it especially suitable for stairways, corridors, lobbies, garages, basements, storage rooms, bathrooms, and other passage areas.

Switching on is carried out by means of an integrated capacitive touch sensor on the front, so it is enough to touch it without applying pressure. It also allows additional external push buttons to be connected and features resettable operation: if it is activated again during an active timing cycle, a new full cycle begins.

Adjustable timing from 30 seconds to 10 minutes

The PULSALUZ allows the lighting operating time to be adjusted between approximately 30 seconds and 10 minutes. The adjustment selector is hidden behind the outer frame, helping to prevent accidental changes or unauthorized tampering once configured.

This adjustment makes it possible to adapt operation to each area. Shorter times are suitable for quick transit spaces, while longer periods allow the lighting to remain on for longer in stairways, garages, bathrooms, or common areas.

Integrated capacitive touch sensor

One of the main features of the Orbis PULSALUZ is its capacitive sensor operation. The user only needs to make contact with the front surface to activate the timing, without having to mechanically press a push button.

The front panel also includes a signaling LED that makes the mechanism easier to identify.

Resettable operation

The timer is resettable during operation. Each time the sensor is touched again or one of the external push buttons is activated while the lighting remains on, the timing starts again from the beginning.

This function is especially useful in stairways and common areas, as different users can automatically extend the on-time as they use the installation.

Compatible with external push buttons

In addition to the built-in touch sensor, the PULSALUZ supports additional external push buttons. In this way, the same circuit can be activated from different points in a stairway, corridor, or common area.

Orbis indicates compatibility with illuminated push buttons with a current of up to 6 mA at 230 V. If the contact of the additional push button is kept closed by means of a switch, the unit can remain permanently on while that contact remains closed.

2-wire installation

The Orbis PULSALUZ uses a 2-wire electronic installation, a feature especially useful in certain renovations and replacements of timed mechanisms where a neutral conductor is not available in the mechanism box.

Installation is flush-mounted in a 65 x 65 mm universal mechanism box. Electrical connection is made using screw terminals for conductors with a cross-section of 0.75 to 1.5 mm².

Designed for incandescent and halogen lamps

The OB200000 reference is specifically designed for incandescent and halogen lighting loads. The manufacturer specifies the following recommended load ranges:

• Incandescent lamps: 25 to 500 W.
• 12 V AC low-voltage halogen lamps: 50 to 300 VA.
• 230 V AC halogen lamps: 18 to 500 W.

Important: Orbis expressly states that PULSALUZ is not suitable for electronic loads. It must not be used with fluorescent lamps, energy-saving lamps, electronic downlights, or LED lighting. For these types of loads, Orbis timers specifically compatible with them must be selected.

Protection by fast fuse

The timer incorporates an internal non-replaceable 3.15 A type F fast fuse. The switching element is semiconductor-based, suitable for the electronic operation of the device within the loads specified by the manufacturer.

Low power consumption

The PULSALUZ’s own consumption is approximately 0.7 W, equivalent to 5.3 VA. As it is a timer permanently installed in the circuit, this reduced consumption limits the energy needed to keep the control system active.

Designed for flush mounting

The mechanism has approximate external dimensions of 93 x 86 x 42.5 mm and a net weight of 48 g. It is prepared for mounting in a universal box, and its design allows the timing system to be integrated directly into the lighting control area.

Orbis’s technical sheet also indicates compatibility with Simon series 27 mechanisms, facilitating integration in certain existing installations.

IP20 protection for indoor spaces

The PULSALUZ has an IP20 protection rating according to EN 60529 and Class II protection when correctly installed. It is intended for indoor installations protected from direct moisture.

Its operating temperature range is between -10 and +50 °C, while for transport and storage it can withstand temperatures between -20 and +60 °C.
