Adjustable Timer from 30 Seconds to 10 Minutes

The Orbis MICROTEMP timer, reference OB200004, is a compact 230 V electronic timer designed to automate the switching on and off of lighting circuits over an adjustable period from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Its reduced size allows it to be installed discreetly behind a pushbutton, in a universal flush box, junction box, inspection box, or false ceiling.

MICROTEMP uses a 2-wire connection only and does not require a neutral conductor at the installation point. It is compatible with standard pushbuttons, supports an unlimited number of additional pushbuttons, and features retriggerable timing, so a new press during the cycle restarts the selected time.

Adjustable timing from 30 seconds to 10 minutes

The operating time is adjusted using the control located on the front of the device. The range from 30 seconds to 10 minutes makes it suitable for stairs, corridors, communal courtyards, toilets, and other areas where lighting only needs to remain on for a set period.

Once the selected period has elapsed, MICROTEMP automatically disconnects the load. If a pushbutton is pressed again while the timer is still active, the cycle starts again from the beginning.

2-wire installation without neutral

One of the main features of MICROTEMP is its connection using only two conductors. The device is connected in parallel with the pushbutton and does not require a neutral in the flush box.

This configuration makes it easier to integrate into certain existing installations where only the live and the lighting return are available, avoiding major wiring modifications.

Concealed mounting in a flush box or junction box

The timer body measures approximately 40 x 40 x 14 mm, so it can be housed behind a pushbutton inside a universal box or installed in a junction box, inspection box, or false ceiling.

Once installed, MICROTEMP remains hidden and the user continues to operate the lighting using conventional pushbuttons, without the need to install a visible dedicated mechanism.

Compatible with any standard pushbutton

Orbis specifies compatibility with conventional pushbuttons on the market. In addition, unlimited additional pushbuttons can be installed, allowing the same circuit to be activated from different points in a staircase, corridor, or communal area.

It also supports illuminated pushbuttons within the configuration specified by the manufacturer.

Retriggerable timing

The retriggerable operation allows the lighting period to be extended automatically. When pressed again during an active timing cycle, MICROTEMP starts a new full cycle with the same configured time.

This function is especially useful in stairwells and communal areas, as different users can restart the timing as they enter the space.

Use as a staircase timer and timer

In addition to being used as a staircase timer, Orbis instructions include different wiring options to use it as an on-delay or off-delay timer.

Its design allows, among other possibilities, certain long-duration impulses to be converted into shorter timed impulses, always following the electrical diagrams indicated by the manufacturer.

Designed for incandescent and halogen lighting

MICROTEMP uses an electronic output via semiconductor. Due to its 2-wire operating system, Orbis specifies certain minimum and maximum loads that must be respected.

The timer consumption is approximately 0.5 W, equivalent to 5.5 VA. It operates with a 230 V AC supply and 50 Hz frequency.

IP20 protection for indoor installations

MICROTEMP has an IP20 protection rating according to EN 60529 and Class II when correctly installed. It is intended for indoor locations and protected inside a flush box, inspection box, or suitable enclosure.
