The Orbis UNO QRD analog time switch, reference OB400232, is a modular electromechanical timer designed to automate the daily switching on and off of electrical circuits. It operates at 230 V, features a 24-hour dial with a minimum programming interval of 15 minutes, and includes a 150-hour power reserve to keep the clock running during power outages.
Its compact design takes up only 1 DIN module of 17.5 mm, making installation easy even in electrical panels with limited available space. It incorporates a normally open 16(4) A contact at 250 V AC, an interchangeable NiMH battery, and a manual selector with automatic, off, and permanent on operating positions.
The Orbis UNO QRD uses a 24-hour analog dial to set the circuit on and off periods. The configured program repeats automatically every day, making it especially practical in applications where the operating schedule is similar from Monday to Sunday.
The dial includes 96 programming tabs. Each one represents a 15-minute interval, allowing different operating time slots to be set throughout the day without the need for digital displays, apps, or electronic configuration.
The minimum time between a programmed switch-on and switch-off is 15 minutes. This resolution makes it possible to automate a wide range of domestic, communal, and professional equipment with sufficient precision, such as lighting, heating, irrigation, pumping, or auxiliary systems.
Orbis specifies an approximate switching accuracy of ±5 minutes for the daily dial.
The main difference between the UNO QRD and the UNO D model without reserve is the inclusion of a rechargeable battery that keeps the clock operating when the power supply is interrupted.
Orbis specifies an autonomy of 150 hours. Thanks to this reserve, a temporary power outage does not require the timer to be reset immediately, as the clock continues to run while the battery has sufficient charge.
The UNO QRD uses a 1.2 V rechargeable NiMH battery, type V80H. Orbis specifies that this battery is interchangeable, allowing it to be replaced when it reaches the end of its service life without having to replace the entire time switch.
The battery recharges while the unit remains connected to the power supply.
The front panel includes a switch that allows the circuit operation to be changed without altering the set program. The user can select three modes:
This function is useful for maintenance, testing, holidays, or specific situations where the daily program needs to be temporarily overridden.
The UNO QRD incorporates a normally open contact with a switching capacity of 16(4) A at 250 V AC. The contact between terminals 1 and 2 is voltage-free, which facilitates integration into different control circuits.
The maximum permissible load depends on the type of receiver connected, so the values recommended by Orbis must be respected.
For electronic loads or equipment with high inrush currents, it is especially important to ensure that the limits set by the manufacturer are not exceeded.
The Orbis UNO QRD stands out for its compact format. It occupies only 17.5 mm of width, equivalent to one DIN module, making it easy to integrate into existing electrical panels where available space may be limited.
It is designed for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail in accordance with EN 60715 and has approximate external dimensions of 17.5 x 90 x 66 mm.
The side dial allows operating intervals to be viewed and adjusted directly. Programming is carried out by moving the tabs corresponding to the periods during which the circuit should remain on or off.
As an analog system, it requires no menus or external tools, making both initial commissioning and later schedule changes easy.
The programming area has a sealable transparent window. This solution allows the configuration to be visually checked while helping to prevent accidental tampering or unauthorized changes.
This feature is especially useful in apartment buildings, public buildings, offices, shops, and other electrical panels accessible to multiple people.
The own consumption specified by Orbis is approximately 0.5 W, equivalent to 0.6 VA. Its quartz mechanism offers a running accuracy of ±1 second every 24 hours at a reference temperature of 23 °C.
The UNO QRD has an IP20 protection rating in accordance with EN 60529 and Class II under correct mounting conditions. It is intended to be installed inside electrical panels protected against water and direct access to the terminals.
Its operating temperature range is between -10 and +45 °C. For transport and storage, Orbis specifies a range of -20 to +60 °C.
Daily programming and power reserve make the OB400232 suitable for numerous applications where the same schedule needs to be repeated automatically:
The Orbis UNO QRD OB400232 combines the simplicity of an analog time switch with a 150-hour power reserve. This feature allows the clock to remain operational during temporary power outages, an important advantage over the UNO D model without reserve.
Its 15-minute programming, 16(4) A contact, interchangeable battery, and single DIN module format make it a particularly practical solution for automating daily circuits in electrical panels with limited available space.
Important: reference OB400232 corresponds to the daily UNO QRD model with power reserve. For weekly programming, Orbis offers the UNO QRS. Installation must be carried out following the manufacturer's instructions and respecting the indicated maximum loads.
