Digital Timer Switch DATA LOG 230V

The Orbis DATA LOG, reference OB174012, is a digital time switch for 230 V designed to automate the switching on and off of an electrical circuit using daily or weekly schedules. For applications that need to control two independent circuits, Orbis offers the DATA LOG 2 version, while reference OB174012 is specifically intended for control of a single circuit.

ON/OFF switching, pulses and cycles

In addition to conventional fixed-time programming, the Orbis DATA LOG allows different types of switching to be configured for more specific automation applications.

• Fixed time ON/OFF: circuit connection or disconnection at the programmed times.
• Pulses: switching operations with programmable duration between 1 and 59 seconds.
• Cycles: repetitive sequences from 1 to 59 seconds and/or from 1 minute to 23 hours and 59 minutes.
• Manual switching: allows the circuit status to be temporarily changed.
• Permanent switching: keeps the output connected or disconnected regardless of the time program.

Programming via Bluetooth

The current version of the DATA LOG OB174012 includes Bluetooth 5 LE communication as standard, allowing programming from a compatible smartphone as well as direct use of the device’s front controls.

This connectivity makes it easier to create and modify schedules when the programmer is installed inside the electrical panel and allows its functions to be managed using compatible Orbis software solutions.

Backlit LCD display

The DATA LOG incorporates a backlit graphical LCD display that clearly shows the time, programming and circuit status. The unit also displays a daily schedule that makes it easier to visualize the configured operating periods.

Backlighting and contrast adjustment simplify programming and maintenance tasks even when the electrical panel is installed in a poorly lit area.

Four special periods for holidays and public holidays

The programmer allows up to four special annual periods to be defined. These periods can be used to temporarily adapt operation during holidays, public holidays, company shutdowns or other dates when the installation’s usual schedule changes.

This means there is no need to delete the regular weekly program every time an exception occurs in the calendar.

Automatic summer-winter time changeover

The DATA LOG can automatically switch between summer and winter time depending on the selected country. This function can also be disabled when the installation requires a fixed time throughout the year.

Backup reserve with replaceable battery

The time switch incorporates a replaceable CR2032 3 V 220 mAh battery, designed to preserve the clock and programs when mains power is interrupted.

Current Orbis documentation specifies a backup reserve of up to 5 years with the battery installed and the unit disconnected from the mains, and an estimated battery life of up to 10 years when the time switch remains powered.

Even without an operational battery, the unit has a high-capacity capacitor that can keep the stored programming for approximately 48 hours without power.

Operating hours counter

The DATA LOG integrates a channel operating hours counter. This function makes it possible to know how long the circuit has remained active and can be especially useful for planning maintenance or monitoring the use of lighting fixtures and other electrical equipment.

Keypad lock and sealable cover

To help prevent accidental or unauthorized changes, the programmer includes keypad locking. It also features a sealable front cover that physically limits access to the controls.
