The Orbis T-16, reference OB060131, is a modular timer for the automatic control of lighting circuits, especially suitable for stairwells, corridors, common areas, courtyards and other spaces where lights need to remain on for a set period of time. It operates at 230 V AC, offers an adjustable timing range from 45 seconds to 7 minutes and is installed on DIN rail, occupying only one 17.5 mm module.
Its retriggerable operation allows the timing cycle to be restarted by pressing again during the on-time. In addition, it supports both 3-wire and 4-wire installations, illuminated pushbuttons and includes a manual selector that lets you choose between automatic operation and permanent on.
The T-16 allows you to easily adjust the time during which the circuit remains connected using the front selector. The adjustment range goes from 45 seconds to 7 minutes, making it easy to adapt to different uses and building requirements.
This adjustment is especially practical in communal stairwells, corridors, access areas, courtyards and other passageways where keeping the lighting on permanently would mean unnecessary energy consumption.
The Orbis T-16 features retriggerable operation. If any of the pushbuttons is pressed while the timing is still active, the cycle starts again from the beginning.
In this way, users can extend the lighting time when necessary without waiting for the lights to switch off first.
The timer can be used in both three-wire and four-wire circuits, providing greater flexibility in new installations and when replacing existing timers.
The change between installation types is carried out following the electrical diagram provided by Orbis. It also supports illuminated pushbuttons fitted with neon lamps, with a total current of up to 50 mA.
The front panel includes a manual control with two positions. In automatic mode, the lights remain on only for the selected time each time a pushbutton is pressed.
The permanent on position temporarily overrides the timing function and keeps the circuit connected. This function is useful for cleaning, maintenance, repair work or any situation where continuous lighting is required.
The T-16 incorporates a normally open contact with a switching capacity of 10 AX at 230 V AC. The maximum load capacity depends on the type of lighting connected.
The Orbis T-16 is designed for installation on a 35 mm DIN rail in accordance with EN 60715. It occupies only one 17.5 mm module, helping to make the most of the available space in electrical panels.
Its overall dimensions are approximately 17.5 x 85 x 59 mm and its net weight is only 68 g. Electrical connection is made using screw terminals for conductors up to 4 mm².
The mechanism has a self-consumption of 2 VA, equivalent to approximately 0.2 W according to the manufacturer's technical data sheet. As this is a device intended to remain connected continuously, this low consumption helps limit the energy cost associated with the control system itself.
The T-16 has an IP20 protection rating according to EN 60529 and Class II protection when correctly installed. Its operating temperature range is between -10 and +50 °C, while for transport and storage it supports temperatures between -20 and +60 °C.
The T-16 is especially designed to automate lighting in areas where light is only needed for short periods. Orbis recommends its use in homes, residential communities, public buildings, hotels, hospitals, offices, retail premises, educational centers, sports facilities and industry.
Its 45-second to 7-minute range, retriggerable operation and compatibility with three-wire or four-wire installations make it especially practical for both new installations and replacing existing timing devices.
The Orbis T-16 OB060131 combines front adjustment, one-module DIN mounting and a 10 A switching capacity in a compact device. The automatic/permanent on selector also makes maintenance tasks easier when the circuit needs to remain connected for an extended period.
To ensure correct operation, installation and wiring must be carried out following the diagrams and specifications provided by Orbis and in compliance with applicable electrical regulations.
